WASHINGTON, April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration's (NHTSA) latest rollover resistance ratings and crash test
results for 2001 model year vehicles are now available on the agency's World
Wide Web site: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov .
For rollover resistance, the Chrysler Sebring four-dour, Dodge Neon four-
door, Dodge Stratus four-door, Plymouth Neon four-door, Toyota Echo four-door,
Dodge Durango 4x2 four-door utility, Honda CR-V 4x4 four-door utility, Toyota
RAV4 4x2 four-door utility, Toyota RAV4 4x4 four-door utility, Toyota 4Runner
4x2 four-door utility, Dodge Ram 4x4 extended cab pickup, Ford Ranger 4x2
extended cab pickup, Ford Ranger 4x4 extended cab pickup, Mazda B-series 4x2
extended cab pickup, Mazda B-series 4x4 extended cab pickup, Toyota Tacoma 4x4
extended cab pickup, Toyota Tundra 4x4 extended cab pickup are rated.
For frontal impact, the Dodge Stratus two-door, Chrysler Sebring two-door,
Daewoo Leganza four-door, Kia Sephia four-door, Toyota Prius four-door, Ford
Escape 4x4 four-door utility, Mazda Tribute 4x4 four-door utility, Nissan
Frontier 4x2 four-door pickup, Chevrolet Venture van, Ford Windstar van, and
the Oldsmobile Silhoutte van are rated.
For side impact, the Audi TT convertible, Chrysler Sebring convertible,
Mazda MX-5 Miata convertible, Honda Civic two-door, Buick Century four-door,
Buick Regal four-door, Chevrolet Impala four-door with side air bags, Chrysler
Sebring four-door, Dodge Stratus four-door, and the Kia Rio four-door are
rated.
For rollover resistance, frontal impact, and side impact, the New Car
Assessment Program (NCAP) reports rollover resistance ratings and crash test
results in a range of one to five stars, with five stars showing the best
crash protection for vehicles. Frontal tests should be compared only within
the same weight class.
