Alpine's last year flagship components. 6.5" components with 1" tweeters.. 200W peak 50 RMS 35hz-32khz 4 ohms.

These usually run $400+ but i got it for $200 on sale.. $60 to install at a local alpine dealer. These so far are the best speakers i've heard. lots of bass and lots of highs.. Now i can hear music with my top down, driving at 70+ mph.. It really fills up the car.

I got my 92 M1 second hand. Everything is fine and it comes with a Clarion 5655z. The only thing that I don't really like is the OE paper speakers. I don't know what abuses they have taken but sound comes distorted REALLY distorted. So I read the reviews here and decided to get the SPS-1629. Installation is relatively easy. However, because their diameters are slightly smaller than the OE, in order to avoid drilling, I have to use some washers to "clamp" them to the door. I don't know if this will greatly affect the sound but I still do like the way they sound. May be the OEs are just too tired and so...Anyway, they are money quite well spent (HK$550, i.e. US$70).

(I am NOT an audiophile.)

6.5" speakers to fit in doors. 120W peak 30W RMS.

40Hz-25Khz 4ohms. About $80. Installed by audio shop. If any, they only drilled one hole in each door. (?) 3- hole mounting. You could probably get them in w/o drilling.

They sound great. This is a good speaker. Really fills up the car with sound. My system is totally stock besides these speakers(i.e. no amps). Right now I have the hardtop on. I can still hear with both windows open at speed. The old ones had no rubber surrounds left, and sounded awful.

These are great speakers. I cranked them, and they shook the windshield, and still sounded good.
This is a great set of speakers. There are, however, better ones, I'm sure. They will cost much more, though. These were $80, and Alpine's component system w/ passive crossovers is $400. Can't afford those. I love these speakers. Get them. If you have any ?'s, feel free to e-mail me.

Alpine 6-1/2", coaxial, 2-way speaker, peak power 100w, with frequency response: 50Hz-22kHz

Excellent speakers to replace the factory door speakers! Purchased from an audio shop for $89+ tax, which installed them in the existing door speaker holes without cutting or additional drilling. The sound quality is truly remarkable! With the factory headrest speakers or with after-market speakers (I replaced mine with 2-pairs of CLARION's 45w, 4", coaxial, 2-way speakers), music and top-down driving never sounded better! The full range of bass and treble can be heard at top speeds with fantastic clarity. I recommend trying them with the new Madonna CD, "Ray of Light". Enjoy!!!
