Black Robbins Vinyl Boot Cover

Quality of this boot cover is very good. All the snaps lined up perfectly with the factory buttons.

At first I didn't even consider a boot, but after seeing the wear/fading on the inside of my 2000's top when it was folded (bought the car used), I figured a boot was in order. Plus, a boot cover gives the Miata a much cleaner look when the top is down. The Robbins cover was a tight stretch when I first installed it on a cool day, but it has loosened up over the past few months and is no issue. I like the straps stitched to the underside that attach to the folded roof's frame to prevent billowing while driving. This is not a cheap accessory, but so far I'm pleased with this boot.

Excellent quality and fit. Easy and quick to put on and take off. A little expensive but worth it for quality and fit.

This particular boot is made to fit Miatas with the Robbins aftermarket top with Glass rear window.

Product was received in excellent condition and the quality of the product was very good. I put the boot on cold and it fit real snug. I honestly believe this product to be better than the factory boot.

If you have a glass aftermarket window then you have to buy this product. The fit and finish is the same as the Robbins cloth top I have...Perfect.

After reading some of the posts on the Robbins Top Boot, I was somewhat aprehensive. Some say the material and construction is too stiff, doesn't fit well, etc, etc. I bought it (from MOSS) anyway, and I couldn't be more pleased. The boot fits perfect, is easy to install & take-off, and best of all looks OEM. Its the finishing touch and looks great with my RB Style V roll bar.

Very high quality materals and construction. At first I thought the boot was pricy ($200), but when I received I was convinced, well worth the price. Very pleased with the purchase, and experience with MOSS. Its a keeper.

If you don't like that unkept look when the top's down... stick it in a boot. I'm very impressed with Robbins, they make quality products.

Replacement for factory top boot.

Questionable construction and quality - not as well made as factory top boot.

I recently traded in my white '91 on a '94 M-Edition, which unfortunately did not have a top boot. I still had my boot from the '91 (heh heh heh - didn't give it to the dealer), but I didn't think it looked very nice with the tan interior on my new M-Edition.

So, I managed to get the dealer to throw in a top boot, which he was to get within a week or two. He wrote up an after-sale work-order for $300 to cover the cost. Come to find out that a boot from the dealer cost close to $800 !!! (Wow, this is just vinyl, right?)

I was able to get the dealer to cut me a check for $300, telling him that I'd get it myself by going to an after-market supplier. I found Johnson Co. selling a replacement for $198 and figured I'd pocket a quick $100.

When I tried to install this replacement boot, I was disappointed to discover that it was substantially more stiff than my black boot -- making folding quite a chore. This stiffness makes it much more difficult to install -- there is absolutely NO give at all, and the snaps seem to be about 1 or 2 mm off from where they should be -- this makes snapping it in very difficult. Additionally, the rails that hold the back and edges are a single extruded piece that simply has notches cut into it to allow for folding. These are of a plastic that is much more flexible than on my black boot, but seem to hold at highway speed.

Overall, I pocketed $100 which allowed me to buy other toys, but I'm only marginally satisfied.
