Not a bad product for only 30 dollars shipped directly to me, I ordered through a company on ebay known as hiprospeed.com. honestly very frustrated with their shipping, had problems with an adjustable one and it not being in stock, but them having it still listed etc etc.

I recieved the package on my front doorstep in a large box, product was wrapped in plastic no damage to it. bolts were new and nice, bar was chrome a little flawed but still decent. Installation went with ease, installed in less then 15 minutes. with a socket, ratchet, and allen wrench.

I've already noticed a huge difference in the riding characteristics of my miata, its bone stock with just this 'suspension' upgrade and the entire front end feels to be alot more uniform and doesn't flex. I've also noticed that the 65 mph shudder is non-existant. Overall a good product for the price.

BOMZ Strut Brace

Upper Strut Stiffening Brace

Not the highest quality, no directions included. Was simple enough to install, but, since there were no directions, who knows if it was installed correctly. Appears to be. Purchased on Ebay for $30 new. Did improve upon shake etc. Spiffy chrome look, and they give you a decal (would've preferred directions).

For the money it's ok. Don't know if a pricier one would work any better. Combining the BOMZ w/ the Brain Storm Braces I've also reviewed the car is definitely improved.

BOOMZ Front Strut Bar

[6/18/2003] Reviewed by: Artur - rr2r@southchicago.net

Applicable to: '90 - '97 1.8 liter

Economy item that has the right looks, price and performance ratio. As for everybody else, the selling point for me was the added rigidity of the chassis and the “racy” look of the engine compartment. Fact that the BOOMZ can be still purchased for $30 + S&H (EBay) was another factor, as I would not invest in a brand name strut bar for over $100.

The bar itself is OK, although the chrome is not perfect around the area where the bar bends downwards towards the towers, but you cannot see it unless you look for it (and of course it could have been my unit only). The nuts and bolts are OK, but the weak points are definitively the welds: compared to the size of bar they look like the first place to go under pressure. After installation I noticed two things: -The car indeed handles better on the highway, although the strut bar will not fix your alignment, rebuild chassis or misshaped wheels/tires problems. Overall, the difference is not so big here. -During the 1st, 2nd gear traversing of high driveways and parking lot entrances, the car gained A LOT of stiffness, so that hitting the road with one front wheel first does not seem to flex the rest of the car so much now.

Overall, I am quite happy with the bar. For the price, it is a great MOD, and even if you will not see any real handling improvements (depending on your current setup: I ride the OEM suspension), it sure gains for you some points in the cosmetics department. Would definitively buy again…

BOMZ STB

"BOMZ" brand STB.

Cheap product that works.

This is one of the "ebay specials" that run $30 or so. The bar is of OK quality, the mounts are the weak point as they are thin and have pretty poor welds. However, for the price it does the job and does it well. I can see that the cowl shake is much less and the car just feels a bit taughter in the front - less rattles! I highly recommend it considering the cost.
