Brainstorm Classic leather e-brake boot.

Tan leather, good match for my interior. works as advertised.

I got this for looks and to help keep out tranny heat from cockpit. I disagree w/ previous review that instructions from Brainstorm did not help. I thought they were fine, but it still did take me ~45mins to do the install. I found it helpful to keep consulting instructions. Product looks very good, and, after packing the area around the e-brake w/heat-reflecting material, no heat escapes from around e-brake area.

Tan leather emergency brake boot - loose fit.

The product looks pretty good installed. It took longer than expected to install since I needed to remove the center console. Others mention they did not have to do this...maybe you do not have to for the tight fit boot. The color matches my 02LS very closely. I will probably reinstall to make it look a little better.

To take the center console off, do some searches in the forum. The directions from Brainstorm do not help.

I ordered both the leather shift boot and the classic "loose fit" e-brake boots. The shift boot is made of good quality leather but the pre-punched mounting holes were a little misaligned. I had to cut the leather to get it to fit on the frame and also had to cut leather away fron the screw holes that mount the shift boot frame to the underside of the console. The boot gets an A for leather quality; a B for craftsmanship; but a D- for BrainStorm's overall quality control. There were several mistakes with the items delivered vs. what was ordered and the quality of what was delivered.

The tan leather is a good match with the rest of the OEM tan interior.

Easy to install and looks great!

See my review of BSP chrome shifter surround for detailed information on the removal of console. Once this is done, simply remove the old boot from the black plastic frame and attach new leather boot.

Tan leather replacement boot for shift boot and tan leather cover for the brake boot.

The tan leather is pretty close to the color of my 2000 LS. Though I was hoping it would be better. The brake boot went on in 2 minutes. After realizing that the center console snaps out of the dash by pulling up, the shift boot took a total of 25 minutes to install. Took me a little longer because one of the holes punched into the leather that attaches to the ring was punched wrong and I needed to punch my own.

In general this is a nice upgrade. It seems silly to have a nice tan interior and not have the matching shift and brake boot. I think it makes a big difference in the look. You can see it at http://miata.cardomain.com/id/2ksilverls

Leather shift boot and e brake boot

I decided to change the cheap black vinyl boot in my 2001 red LS to a matching tan leather one. Also decided to do the e brake as well. Went to BSP for the items. Wow, expensive, but a PERFECT interior color match unlike some others I ordered and promptly returned. The quality of the leather is first class. The instructions were fine, no complaints. Lots of work to do what you would think is a fairly simple job as you must remove the center console in order to change the boot. The ebrake boot was fairly easy. I also installed a genuine Mazda wood shift knob and e brake knob at the same time so it took me longer than it would for someone simply changing a boot.

If you are concerned about the color matching the tan interior -- dont be. It looks factory original and is very classy. I highly recommend BSP for this type of accessory.

Brainstorm leather parking brake boot.

Looks great, well worth the investment. Installation was simple but it was tough to clamp the stiff leather between the two halves of the existing plastic cover and then retighten the screw which seemed too short due to the added thickness of the leather. With a little work and trial the final installation was fine. Do any adjustments to the parking brake before installing the cover. Cover will have to be removed to tighten the parking brake.

This product matches Brainstorm's padded leather armrest. I really dislike the cheap black plastic of the factory e-brake, so this is a great way to cover it with style. The leather is of good quality, and the stitching matches the stitching on the factory leather seats. Overall, a very "factory" looking upgrade. This is a great way to finish off a voodoo (or other) brake handle and chrome brake button.

I can't stand big expanses of plastic, so the leather brake boot cover, armrest and door pulls make a nice matching set. Installation is quite simple: just slide it on over the existing handle and tuck it into the carpet where it meets the transmission tunnel. That's it! Email me for pics.

I am happy with the look and feel of this product, and I would highly recommend it to anybody. The price is reasonable and it really adds style and warmth to the Miata's interior.

Tan leather emergency brake and shift boot, to replace the stock one.

I love these!!! It is one of the best things I have done to the car so far. I think mazda should have done these from the factory but oh well. The quality of the boots is tremendous. Instructions are well written and very helpful.

I highly recommend these to anyone with a tan leather interior! And best of all they aren't that expensive.

Tan leather shift and brake boots for the M2 Miata

The leather is beautiful, soft and thick. What a difference in the interior of my Twilight Blue M2! Leather and stitching match nicely...Looks expensive (and is, a little). This was a an easy install--exactly as described in the one-page instruction sheet. Just remove the console with five screws, remove the old boot, attach the new one the same way and put everything back together. About 15 minutes.

This is the loose fitting brake handle boot from Brain Storm Products. The one I got was colored to match the 10AE

This is an excellent product. It wsa easy to install following the directions except that they fail to mention that the center console is held on by an additional two clips on it's underside. I did not know this and pulled a fingernail off when it finally gave way. Other than that, it went on very well. It took approximately 10 minutes to install.

I am very pleased with the look of the loose fitting boot. It matches the blue of the 10AE shift boot closely and gives a great added appearance to the inside of the car. I would recommend this to anyone!

Replacement shift boot and cover for brake boot, the sweet smell of leather, in Tan color.  Quality stiching for a quality look. 1 page install instruction per item.

Both products came in one small box. Installing both at same time, I removed console and installed the shift boot. The fit is tight and I feared tearing the boot having to streach it to fit at the last attachement point, but it all held. Strait forward install as per documentation.

The brake boot is a cover you put over the existing black plastic boot. Remove the OEM brake boot, slip the leather cover (turned inside out) over the hand brake handle, re-assemble the OEM brake boot and now pull the leather over it, setting the leather outside in, cleanly folded over. Push the material down around and out of way. Left mine as a loose fit. (hint?)

Expensive but looks good and hides that ugly black plastic cover.

Highly recommend.

Another review for the classic brake boot. Fine, thick, leather.

I added this product to my black/black 99. I am surprised what a difference it made to the interior. It took about 5 minutes to install- I did not have to remove the central console that the instructions specified. This may be a difference between 99 and pre-99 models.

A little expensive- about twice the price of similar products on the market, but after reading the negative reviews of the other products, I thought I would try this one. Brainstorm does not have the shift boot for the 99 yet, but I am waiting!

"Classic" (loose fit) brake handle and shift boot made of thick, good quality leather. Fine stitching. Looks and smells like the real stuff. Far superior to the stock vinyl.

Added to my '92 Black and Tan. Why have tan seats and black leather trim? These two products unify the look of the tan leather interior. Simple to install.

A good product from Brainstorm Products, especially when compared against the reviews from the leather at Moss.
