Injen IS6040P Polished Intake with Heat Shield for my 2002 LS

I ordered this intake from Adrinaline Motor Sports and recieved the product a few days later. I was impressed with the fit and finish of the intake. Installation was easy although the instructions could have been a bit clearer. I took my time so that I did not damage anything and still had it finished in 45 minutes. Most of the installation time came from taking the OEM intake off. The 10mm bolt at the back of the air box on the wheel well was very hard to get at with the tower bracing in. A universal driver works well here. The only other problem I ran into was the shock mount that attached to the Radiator bracketing. The slot mount on the intake tubing sits an inch or so past this point so you have to bend the rubber mount over to get it into place. It is a little difficult to get the nut on at that point but it can be done with your fingers and then tightened with a open end wrench. I noticed a seat of the pants increase in low end tourque right away. The sound that co! mes from wide open throttle is so sweet that I turned the Bose off for a few days. The sound has mellowed some since but is still very nice. A few days after install I went back and checked all of the fittings and everything was still tight and looked great. I have an exhaust on order so I will not Dyno the car until after I install it for hard HP gain numbers.

I definatly recomend this product. I do not think that you will get amzing HP gains from it but the fun factor is definatly worth it.

Injen, polished intake

Replacement for the oem plastic intake. This intake is polished with red sleeves, plug and play.

The fit is excellent, the installation is a breeze, performance wise i didn't notice much. I also wasn't expecting much either, i mean its just an intake for gods sake. It does liven up the engine bay though with its sound and appearance.

My only gripe about this intake is that the tube is a little tall and so the first time i shut my hood it made contact with the top of it, scraping a little off of the tube. I remedied this by adding a small rubber gasket to the place where it makes the contact. Looks like that resolved it. Other than that this is a good looking product.

Product came from Injen. Ordered from local car store. Polished Aluminum 4" piping with air filter and polished heat shield.

Ever since I've gotten the intake system, I've gotten nothing but good results. Sounds great, nice and deep sound, especially in the 3-4 k rev range. great look, performance has gone up 5-7 hp. It's more expensive than the other intakes, but this intake is defenitely worth the money. When i first got it installed, my best friend and I went test driving with it, and whoa!! what a difference. I suggest this intake to anyone who is interested, you will be satisfied.

Chrome tubing with high flow cotton filter and heat shield.

Product was shipped promptly from Injen. Installation instructions were pretty good. Removing the factory airbox was a chore, but well worth it. I took my time, and I would say it took about 45 mins. I could probably do another one in 20 mins. Component quality appeared good. Everything fit as advertised. I would recommend this intake to friends or total strangers.

After installation........Wow, big time noise difference. It feels faster, mostly in the 3000-4000 RPM range. Not that much difference in the higher range. But overall, its a faster response to throttle inputs. But the sound. Oh baby! Rev it up...then slow down and do it again. The best part about this intake is that if you don't jump on it around town, you hardly know its there. But when you do, oh mama, it sounds really great. Throaty and rich. Looks cool, too.

Polished aluminum intake with heat shield and K&N air filter.

Great Product! Installed in about 1/2 hour.I was looking for something a little different than what most of the other guys are running and I knew of Injens reputation.I have a red 99 and the Injen is polished aluminum with a red air filter ,red hose couplings and red lettering.Just what I wanted.I also liked the heat shield set-up.

The intake totally compliments my engine compartment and the performance increase is noticeable. So is the sound. It has a hissing sound at idle now, very cool.Driving normally it is a little louder than stock.Get on it and it has a throaty growl, not bad for a 4 cyl.The only thing I had trouble with is the kit should come with 1 more chrome hose clamp. It make you use 1 of your old ones, hence 3 shiney 1 dull clamp.I would highly recommend this product for some one looking for a high quality intake. http://miata.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=177340&page=3

Polished intake with heat shield.

Very Simple to intsall, had no problems at all.

I've been looking for a quality intake for my 2000 special edition and I finally found one that matches my car. It looks great under the hood and has a very throaty sound above 3000 rpm. Not loud and obnoxious at all. Really brightens up the engine bay. Can't wait to get it on the Dyno. Got one for my girlfriend's integra as well.
