This is an update to my MM cat converter installed many months ago.

I installed the product with no problems to replace a failed stock cat. As per my initial review, the cat still looks good and is holding together very well. No rattles or rust. Upon installation, engine light turned off. Didn't have to reset the computer. I have noticed however that after I turn the ignition off following a long drive, I get a lot of noise that sounds like something dripping on the exhaust. I've tried tracing the noise and looking for a leak but can't find any. The noise does seem to be around the downpipe/cat area. Condensation inside the cat? If anyone else installs this product, please report if you experience this as well.

This is a cat converter to replace the stock unit.

So far (3 months) so good. I installed the cat converter the same time as my RB cat back system. I needed the cat converter because my city is doing sniff testing now and my engine light had been throwing a cat code for over a year. Called MM and they said it was CARB legal but couldn't say if it was higher flow than stock.

The product is the same diameter as a stock unit, comes with its own gaskets that I think were a little thin and nuts and bolts. One thing that made me gag were that the bolts were carriage bolts! I immediately saw the horrific future of trying to replace this unit years from now and not being able to put a wrench on either side of the bolt. Instead I reused my oem bolts. For the gaskets, I used the one MM supplied for the end connecting to the down pipe and the RB gasket on the other end. Very simple install, just use tons of penetrating oil the night before on the bolts. The test drive: Sounds great, and engine light went off after 30 seconds of use. Hasn't come on since. CONCLUSION Definitely a cheaper alternative than a muffler shop or dealer. Will update review when I finally get sniff tested to see if it passes.
