Cheap Aluminum tube and generic cone filter Intake

(Installed on a '99 1.8)Product arrived several days later than expected but intact and complete(almost). Install was simple and took only about 30 minutes. It was short one clamp and the valve cover air hose included was useless, the stock one stretches to fit, but should be replaced with slightly longer one. Result -- ever so slight high-end power gain, ever so slight throttle response improvement. Nice growl. Just right, so long as you keep the throttle in the low to mid range it is nearly stock...Floor it and it sounds mean.

I don't know if Procarparts finally got enough complaints they started packing better or what, but after reading all the bad reviews i was a little leary, but the unbelievable $43 price could not be passed up. My kit was short only one standard stainless steel clamp, $1.99 at the store. Other than that, all the special sized rubber connectors were there, infact i have 3 extra! i think they errored on the side of safety with those. Bottom line; For a cheap mod, about the same as a K&N air filter, you can get a whole set-up that looks nice sounds great and is dirt cheap. I have not tried other intakes but i am more than a little skeptical of them working that much better, why spend $100-200 more for one extra horsepower...Save it and buy a header or something.

complete intake with a new intake tube, k&n style cone filter and adapter

When I recieved the intake it came nicly shipped and reached my house in under a week. After inspecting the intake the only problems was missing a second 70mm to 64 mm adapter and the lack of instructions. The install took much more time then probaly every other miata intake available because of the lack of these two items. But i contacted procarparts via email and they were prompt about sending me out another adapter the same day. I made my own bracket to support the filter and air flow meter because i did not like the one that came with the kit.

Like many people know this product does not come with instructions or all of the necessary parts, but the end result is well worth the trouble of finding another adapter from a local import store! The sound of this intake is INCREDIBLE. At WOT the sound will amaze you. I have had people, whom i gave rides too, just stare at me in awe when it was floored. I have been in other miatas with intakes and they just do not compare. If you want to buy something that is easy to install and can be done in a short amount of time then this kit is deffintly not for you but if yo udon't mind get messy and being creative you will deffitly like the power increase and sound!!

replacement pipe and filter for air intake

on of the biggest rip-offs going!

this is marketed on ebay to fit all m1's, on their web sit it is listed only to fit the early 1.6's. THIS THING IS JUNK! looks good in the picture and only found this out after trying it. it is cheap and won't fit the 1.8 correct. i tried to contact this company four different ways and all i ever heard back was thanks for your donation (my money). proceed at your own risk with this company and beware of deals to good to be true on ebay.

Aluminum intake pipe w/high flow filter

It doesn't fit. I tried, but it's bent in such a way that it gets too close to the engine and exhaust manifold, and thus would be sucking in hotter air than the stock unit. Also missing necessary parts for installation. If it were bent like the stock unit ('U' shape), then it would probably be much better.

Do not buy!

Replacement aluminum tube from throttle body to air filter

Crap!

Does not include enough parts for install, parts don't work. I decided to offer a review to prevent people from buying this kit. Did not work with stock vacuum lines and would have to relocate hood prop. Comes with no directions and company does not reccomend DIY, only a professional install. Do yourself a favor and forget you ever saw it.
