Racing Mazda 2.5" downpipe for Greddy Kit

2.5" downpipe, turbo discharge to converter.

I am happy with the performance of the pipe. Boost is made much earlier now. The 4000rpm abrupt peak of the turbo has been eliminated. I also installed a homemade 2.5" converter so it must take equal credit for improved performance. The quality of the pipe is questionable. My pipe needed some welding around the turbo flange because it had pin holes in it that the Racing Mazda overlooked. Since Racing Mazda quoted a 10 delivery and it took almost a month to get, I decided to fix it my self insted of sending it back. The relationship between the turbo flange and the tight radius of the downpipe necessitates that RM slip a bolt into the flange before it is welded on. This bolt was a mother to wrench into the discharge of the turbo. You'll want to have a "stubby" 13mm wrench for this. I think that a stud and nut would make the pipe easier to install.

The pipe is an improvement, no question. The fit is good too. I am concerned about the welding quality though.

Racingmazda / Race Redi 1.6 X-Kit

The Kit includes everything needed to install the turbo kit. The tubular manifold is a very well constructed piece made out of quarter inch thick metal. and welded at the seams with the utmost care. The manifold arrives with a very good portting job as well as a perfect gasket match too. The downpipe is a three inch mandrel bent unit that has thichk flanges on both sides for great reliability and structural integrity. It lines up perfect, no vibrations, no dings, no customizing needed. I know some of you guys have delt with the horrable positioning of the greedy downpipe, not with this setup, its mounted back about a foot and a half from that position, making install and taredown a piece of cake. other than that, everything lines up perfectly and works like a well oiled machine. truly a race ready setup!

I have exsperienced nothing but ground breaking design and systematic fitment with this kit.

I have no really hard numbers such as chassis dyno stats, but I do have 12.9 @114 Time slip If you want your Miata to be able to whoop anything out on the street with the greatest of ease, you definitely need this kit. I get full boost by 4100RPM! Anybody wondering what dealing with Racingmazda is like? Well If I had to choose the best customer service out of any business I have dealt with, it would definitely be Racingmazda with Ric. Well to sum it up, Ric is great with support, Talked to him on the phone today for almost an hour about a boost leak. And His products are top notch as well. If you want the fastest Miata in your city, or want to be able to spank Vetts, Porches, and 98% of the rest of the cars out on the streets, this turbo kit is the key to success. PS I love the reaction when I pop my hood and people see the size of the turbo, Talk about some serious jaw dropping and drooling.
