This filter is marginally acceptable really... I doubt it cleans air that well and furthermore, it doesnt flow much air at all! Well... $20... y'know!

Older cone filter was messed up, had to replace it with one very quickly... so I went to Autozone, decided against a $45 K&N cone filter, at that time( dunno what I was thinking!)... and plunked down $20 for this faux K&N... This product is not good compared with an original k&N filter. Lets say they are not comparable at all! Got rid of the spectre last week and installed KN2430 instead. Difference is amazing, noise is more of an organized chaos !!! The growl is more menacing, the bite is more evident. People... don't bother with the Spectre, spend $20-25 more and get the good stuff.. for your own good!

Well, buy it at your own risk.. I suppose... I'll stick to a nice red K&N... yee haw... not worth $20,... really.

The Spectre cone style filter is a pleated cotton and stainless mesh with an outlet size of three inches. The metal ends are available in three colors- red, blue, and chrome. It comes dry(unoiled)and can be oiled with K&N or similar filter oil.The Spectre rep said it doesn't need it but i did it anyway. The outlet end of the filter is exactly three inches and comes with a hose clamp.

The filter is available at Autozone for $20!!No joke! I had used it in the past on two other vehicles-92 olds achieva and a 96 ford ranger- both with good results.I measured the air sensor housing on my 94 M edition and found the housing to be also three inches. The filter slipped on and I tighted the clamp.I also zip-tied the filter down to the bottom half of the air box as I haven't made a shield or bracket yet.

The sound is a much welcomed improvement although mostly heard at full throttle.Doesn't sound as good as a cold air induction on my brother's Civic SI but cost is a factor.Power seems slightly bumped-1 or 2 hp seat of the pants? This install is worth doing even if you upgrade later.
