This is a H-3 Bulb or a 9003

Bulb looks great ......whit the projector beam lenses on the 2002+ it looks just like HID lights. But the tragic flaw is that they only lasted 6 months (very little night time driving). I called Sylvania's customer service and they were no help saying the bulbs should only last "maybe 100" hours and under certain circumstances they "may need to be replaced every few months".

Not worth the money at 30+ dollars a set.

replacement head lamps, the xv's are the middle price bulbs in the 9003 series. these were buy one get one 1/2 off and are direct fit replacements for the oem bulbs. xv stands for extra vision. they are not the cool blue/silverstar lights.

according to the sylvania web page these last as long as standard replacement bulbs and last longer than the silverstar bulbs and are 20% brighter than standard 9003s.

these were easy to install and are very bright. i had them on side by side in the dark with standard headlights on a newer SUV to compare. street signs show up quite nicely and on high beam they are excellent. lateral lighting is quite noticeable as well. they were installed 06 jan 2006. I drive at night daily to work so they will get lots of use; i will report back when they burn out.

Silverstar and Cool blue

Easy installation, just read your miata manual and never touch the bulb. Both lights look much better than stock. I bought Cool blue first for my miata but the filment burst just 3 months after I installed them. So then I deciced to get Silverstar thinking it would be a better quality, since the price was more expansive. The light was brighter but they only lasted 3 months also. Not worth the price to last a few months. I am back to stock ugly yellow sylvania lights.

Silverstare 9003 replacement headlight bulbs.

Great light output and color. Bought in Dec '03. Both suffered broken filaments in Oct '04. Same experience with Sylvania Cool Blue bulbs. $20 bulbs

Complained to Sylvania. Got the following Reply: Thank you for your inquiry, and please accept my apologies for any inconvenience the failure of these SilverStars may have caused you. Due to the performance of the SilverStar, it does have the shortest life of any of our product upgrades. The shorter life span is directly related to the performance nature of the lamps. The blue absorption coating on the glass contributes to the crisp white light emitted, but also traps heat inside the capsule, causing the filament to burn out more quickly, thus decreasing the life. As with most high performance products, there is a trade-off between the higher performance and the life hours, unfortunately. The SilverStar product works harder (not burns hotter, however) to give the whiter, brighter light and this impacts the life hours. The life expectancy of a SilverStar halogen light source is dependent on the driver's use of the lights, which vary by season, time of day and number of miles driven. We estimate the SilverStar halogen light! s to have a life span of up to one year under average driving conditions. The life of the SilverStar is further decreased if being used in a day-time running light application. Note: Expect one year of life. Headlight bulbs have become a consumable like air filters

Sylvania silver star 7" headlight. Bright white lite approximating HID. Model H6024ST

Install on these lights were easy, fit were excellent. The salesperson said that these lights were the next step up from the blue bulb which have been reviewed here by others. Although I have no comparison to the other, I can say that these lights are much brighter than the standard yellow beam headlights. A little pricier than the other sylvania lights : 25/light vs 17.50/light of the blue light vs. 11/light for standard sealed beam replacement units. Overall I have to say that they are worth the money, so much that I think I will get a set of 9004 for my ford truck and suv too. The lights make seeing at night in my opinion easier than standard yellow lights

Try them, I think they would make a great economical upgrade for lighting without having to go to hellas or other dual beam conversion and still get that bright white bulb look

Sealed beam headlight that is an upgrade on standard. It is street legal and emits a cleaner sharper white beam

A total snap to install and took 20mins to install both. The difference over stock was incredible and at under $20 from PEP boys I am very happy with my purchase. It is a pleasure to be able to see where I am driving at night and have not had any oncoming cars flash me.

This is a H-3 Bulb or a 9003 "reversible". Headlights are quite easy to replace as opposed to many of my past cars. I chose these because of effective advertising in the magazines that i subscribe to.

Great bulb, not a whole lot brighter than stock but a lot whiter. None of that blue crap that people seem to think looks cool (only if you're ages 16-18). Much better definition of light and as before much whiter, really can tell a difference when riding next to another car with "regular" headlights. On a "whiteness scale" i'd say these are 80% as white as HID's.

Would buy again, but are kinda pricey for a bulb $50 a pair. Good upgrade though if you plan to keep the car quite sometime.

This is a sealed beam headlamp that emits a slightly whiter hue than a standard, sealed beam light. Since this is not a separate halogen bulb, it does not require the purchase of a $100+ headlamp system to screw into.

I bought this from AutoZone for about $30 for the pair. It seemed an economical alternative to buying a Hella headlamp for three times the price and then who knows how much more for the PIAA bulbs that screw into them. It was easy to install; it just goes in like any other sealed-beam headlamp. There was an improvement, but not a drastic one.

This is a good headlight for someone who wants an inexpensive way to upgrade their headlights and doesn't want lights that produce that "rice-boy" blue hue. I have removed them from my own car because I was really looking for something a little more drastic (I want something around the same color you'd see on a Mercedes).

Replacement Improved sealed beam headlight.

Much better lowbeam light pattern with very definite light bar to the left. Noticeably brighter than std halogen. You can see the improved quality of the lense compared to std light. Have not been able to test high beams but I feel sure they will be better.

A real improvement and a good buy at 12.99 each. Not all stores have the 7 inch lights. Bought mine at PepBoys.

What a VALUE! This bulb gives similar performance to the PIAA Superwhite at less than half the price. When one of my PIAA bulbs burned out, I replaced it with one of these bulbs. I cannot see any differance from my remaining PIAA.

If you want to get a Xenon Gas charged bulb with with very white and very brite lite, than this is the bulb to buy.
