Performance slotted brake rotors that have been cryogenically treated. www.appliedrotortechnology.com  In a nutshell, the brake rotors are deep frozen over the course of several days, thereby altering the structure of the metal and (in theory) making them more resistent to heat. The effect is to create a rotor that withstands the heat of braking better and resists brake fading or warping.

Easy to install for someone who knows all of the tricks to removing & installing Miata brake rotors (good instructions are elsewhere here on miata.net). Direct replacement for the factory parts. Applied Rotor Technology is new to the Miata market and everyone there has been friendly and easy to work with. Their product is high quality at a reasonable price and they offer a variety of semi-performance to racing brake pads to mate with your new rotors.

Installed the rotors two months ago and have since experienced all kinds of driving conditions (including autocross) over about 4,000 miles. My stopping distances seem shorter and more confident than before, but I don't have anything other than the "seat of the pants" to measure by. I don't know if the "cryogenic treatment" does anything beyond what the slotting will do, but a general google.com search on the web for "cryogenically treated brakes" did produce several articles & websites where people were swearing by the treatment.

Over 30 minutes to remove completely
