KVR Python 4 Pistons Brake Caliper

Applicable to: '99 + 1.8 liter

4 Piston front brake calipers manufactured by KVR Performance. They are painted in nice, red glossy paint. They are bolt-on, which use the OEM brackets, brake hoses, and the 10" stock rotors.

I installed them and drove for almost 2,000 miles. The braking performance is amazing. I didn't do any measurement, but I could feel the difference during hard braking. The stock calipers give fair braking performance, but the KVR calipers give outstanding performance. Before I installed the calipers, I was worried that these calipers would be too strong, and may lock up the brakes. However, because these calipers were designed for Miata (not an universal calipers), unbalancing performance did not happen.

I recommend this product to people who want more braking performance than the stock brake. The finishing quality of the calipers is superior (I think the glossy paint looks even better than Brembo). KVR did a permanent wax on the calipers, so the calipers are cleanable/wipeable. I bought them for $700+S&H. There are not too many brake calipers choice for the Miata. In contrast with the $2500 Brembo calipers, this KVR calipers are unbeatable. This is a good investment for the unexpected traffic or track day.

KVR Python 10" Aluminum Brake Calipers

Applicable to: '90 - '97 1.8 liter

KVR Python 10" Aluminum Brake Calipers, 4 piston, dual bleeders, comes with KVR Carbon Fiber Brake Pads.

The installation was straight forward, utilizing existing brackets and OEM brake lines. The calipers are lightweight and the finish is excellent. I opted for a set of KVR cadmium plated cross drilled rotors at the time of installation.

Right away I noticed a massive difference in stopping power for my 96 JR Supercharged Miata. Initially there was more CF brake dust than I anticipated on my MOMO Sport 16" X 7 1/2" wheels but after a few weeks of driving that calmed down, still some dust, not nearly as much. In performance driving school the instructors assumed I was running ABS Brakes because my car stopped quickly, without a whole lot of drama again and again. I have run this package for a year without any problem, pads wearing evenly. My calipers are factory red (a few other colours available, not sure what they are) and look great on a silver car. I am pleased.
