Sirius Radio kit by Mazda

Sirius Radio kit by Mazda

Mazda Kit to add Sirius radio to OEM radio (same on both my 06 and 13 Miatas). Sold only by Mazda and requires two kits. The radio kit and the installation kit. Once installed the SAT button on your OEM radio will be active and programming is thru the normal radio. There are no other visible items showing

I purchased the two kits from Montgomery Mazda online and had them in hand within three days. I had a local installer do the actual installation and he had it completed and working within an hour. His charge was $65. A call to Sirius to activate it (you get 4 months gratis by the way with a new installation) and you're in business.

I listen to Sirius almost exclusively as the reception is excellent and I can drive from one end of the country to the other without ever having to change channels. I also appreciate the commercial free listening. None of my three Miatas (Miati?) all bought new have had acceptable AM/FM reception. Many manufacturers include the sat. radio as std. equipment even on their base vehicles and I don't understand why Mazda doesn't do this too. That being said, I'd recommend the mod as a worthwhile and trouble free improvement.

Over 30 minutes to remove completely
