Applicable to:
$250 coilover conversion (similar to the ground control kit). i bought them from Import Studio. The kit has 2 springs for each corner: one spring that collapses when the car is on the ground, and a second (from what ive read) VERY stiff spring. the fronts are labeled, as well as the rears to prevent any confusion during installation. I installed them along with a new set of KYB AGX's
Unfortunatly enough for me, i broke quite a few bolts during the process of removing the old shock/spring combo, and the installation ended up taking about a week, instead of what should have been a few hours. Credit for that goes to a wonderful little thing known as rust. Becuase of what has been posted on the mnet forum about these, i was afraid that the spring rates would be waaaay to high for comfort. I could not have been more wrong. My old shocks may have been blown, and as a result, i had gotten used to a miata with a harsh ride. The car now seems much more comfortable to ride in, just as long as care is taken going over large bumps and railroad crossings. I lowered the car a tasteful amount, with there being about a 3/4" gap from the tires to the fender. As for the car's handling, can you say gokart?!?!? The stiff springs help reduce roll during quick transitions. It is not harsh at all, and i am very impressed at the performance of these $! 250 'ricer' coil-overs.
Now i just have to wait for the autocross season to begin. Less than a month!!!! w00t!
Over 30 minutes to remove completely
