Custom Gauge Faces for the Miata
All I have seen plenty of custom gauge faces on my travels for my own set of faces for my 2002 Mazda RX-7, and I came accross this company in Japan, I spoke the the owner, and told him that they were some of the best gauge faces I had seen on my travels and asked if he could create a custome set for my 7 so I promptly shipped off my spare dails to see if he could do it...alass he could not but if you check out his website you will see some of the best Miata gauge faces on the internet and I would say well worth the purchase and shipping. Just thought I would help you guys out. http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~AWD/index.html

Stainless steel replacement face for A/C panel in centre console, with polished ring surrounding A/C dial.
Good quality finish. Worth the time required to make installation.
One thing about japanese items, is that the product packaging and finish is top notch! The items came laid out on a card sheet, clearly marking out the various components. Removing the current face on the A/C panel was the only troublesome bit. The factory laid adhesive had hardened and it took a while to clean it all off, to ensure that the new face would sit properly. The package comes with a small ball of black sticky stuff (like chewed gum), which is suppose to be used to stick the face to the panel, but isn't mentioned in the instructions. I used a couple of self adhesive strips instead, to make sure that the face would sit flush without any bulging or flexing. I would advise not using the adhesive strips which are on the control icons insert, which would otherwise stick to the A/C panel, this may tear the insert if you ever decide to remove it. The insert already fits very well and does not shift and the SS panel holds everything in place sufficie! ntly well. Really brightens up the interior. Looks good even viewing it from the outside through the rear window. Two thumbs up! (10 thumbs up if I was all thumbs).

Replacement gauge faces for all Miatas. A relatively huge collection to choose from. Gauge faces for oil, fuel, temp, tach and speed with replacement bulb covers to change cluster lighting from green to orange.
Really simple install. Pretty darn straight-forward. Instructions are in slightly broken-english, but make sense and are easy to follow. As others have mentioned, >slight< shadowing in the numbers at night, but barely noticeable and infinitely acceptable.
These faces have transformed my car (in my eyes). Very, very, very nice. AWD has a selection of faces to suit anyone. My ONLY complaint is that I did not get the Fan Control panel he sells. The gauges (orange) do not match the OEM green illumination in the fan control. There is no doubt that I will get the fan control panel in the near future.

Replacement gauge faces and air conditioner control panel made by AWD (Artworks/Dewa). AWD is a little known (at least in the US) Japanese company which makes a wide variety of unique gauge faces for the M1 and M2 Miatas. The gauge faces have red numbers with black, blue, white backgrounds. There are designs with the tach and speedo needles start position at about 730 o'clock (like stock) and designs with the start position at 600 o'clock. AWD also makes a replacement AC control panel in polished aluminum, carbon fiber, or wood look. Both products glow a cool orange at night. Gauges faces cost $125-150; AC panel $100. Discount if bought together.
I placed an e-mail order to AWD through their English web site at http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~AWD/eoutline.html and received the order three days later. You have to pay by international postal money order. I ordered the M1MS gauge faces and the aluminum look AC panel. The quality, design, and fit of the product are excellent. Replacement aluminum needle stoppers and orange bulb covers were included. Installation is like any other gauges faces. Installation of the AC panel requires removal of the center console and dash trim panels. The provided instructions were pretty rough due to the literal Japanese translation. In the spirit of Miata-ness, I re-wrote some of the instructions in better English for their future use. There was some variation in the gauge lighting (hotspots) but nothing significant.
I also installed the IL vintage chrome gauge rings and chrome AC knobs to complete the look. Check out my installation at http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~AWD/m1ms.html I get lots of compliments. If you want something unusual, this is the place to look. I highly recommend these products.
