Applicable to: '90 - '97 1.8 liter
The 4-1 header has nice thick flanges. The welds are neat and professional looking. The EGR inlet is located in the right place (third primary). It was pointed down a little but it still was not difficult to install the EGR inlet pipe. The whole thing included two OEM exhaust gaskets.
It took some persuading to get the unit into place but I suppose thats true for any aftermarket header. I had a tough time getting the EGR pipe to screw on to the header but I got it to work without breaking out the propane torch or pipe bender. The primary oxygen sensor boss is about a foot back from the stock position so I had to extend the wiring. It really was not a big deal and only took around 15 minutes.
I bought the header off ebay. I read other reviews about ebay headers that required major adjustments. I wanted an affordable header but I also wanted one that fit. This header was $225 with shipping and it fit great. I noticed definite improvements at 3,000 rpm to redline.
Over 30 minutes to remove completely
