VF Engineering Supercharger. Increases horsepower 50% expecially in the upper rpm ranges
I had the supercharger installed by a local Mazda Specialty Shop in Indianapolis. It took them over 2 and 1/2 weeks to complete the installation due to missing parts from the manufacturer and problems with the CPU chip that must be reprogrammed to the 2004 specs. it was worth the wait! Very benign power delivery at first but as the revs climb past 5K it really moves to redline super quickly. It has a whistle that gets attention from others. It is worth the invesment despite it being more expensive than other superchargers such as the Jackson Racing Roots type. Love it!
Can't wait to have stage 3 bolted on next year with upgraded injectors, air to air intercooler, and reprogrammed ECU.
Difficult to remove without leaving damage

This is a very easy bolt on setup that uses a crank pully extention to run the supercharger. Very quiet and excellent on proformance.
This product is great. That is when it's running. VF Engineering has very poor customer service. When parts break they send you the wrong one. When you know what is wrong they tell you that your wrong and check with a mechanic only just to tell you the same thing. It's great to install. But who ever engineered the parts that go with the kit or decided to use the materials probably needs to go back to engineering school.
The supercharger is good. When it's running I like the extra feel of horse power that it gives. I wish that it would run for a longer period of time.

Vortech style supercharger for M2 Miata's.
Very impressed with the quality of the unit. Bolts on with seperate pulley system. Runs quietly, smoothly and reliably.
Performance Buyers Club installed this for me, and as usual they did a fantastic job, so I can't comment on the installation process. Once installed however, this unit has performed exactly as advertised. I previously had a JR Supercharger, but because JR and PBC were unable to troubleshoot an annoying stalling problem at idle, I finally replaced that unit with this one. JR's Customer Support was fair and reasonable about this issue so I have no complaints there. Comparing the two units, the JR Supercharger had better low-end performance and gave more punch from a dead start but in turn the VF Engineering supercharger provides a quieter and smoother boost. It's such a pleasure to pass cars on the highway now that I can't wait to take this out on the track. I'm impressed enough that as soon as the Stage 3 kit is ready I'm going to buy one.
