Low profile fixed headlamp replacement

I have had these installed for over two years now.

Thought I'd do a follow-up review for longevity's sake on this product. Two years after putting them in, I still get stopped at lights with questions about what kind of car I'm driving. Mind you, I've got chrome style bars, Crazy Red's driving lights, lowered springs, 15" alloys with some meaty tires, so saying the comments are all on account of these lights wouldn't be entirely accurate, but I think it's safe to say most folks do comment on them. The lexan covers have some very minor scratches after many, many washes, but look like they're almost brand new. I read another comment about securing them in with electrical tape. I used gorilla snot in some strategic locations and so far, it has worked very well. The lights haven't required any readjustments since installation. All in all, I'd say I've gotten my money's worth and would recommend them with the caveat you spend good money getting them painted to match your car ($100 for me) and be patient during the installation.

Low Profile Euro Style lights, maunfactured by Brain Storm

I would have to say Not good, it took me a few days to complete this task with the help of a few friends. But Now that the lights are on, they look great, and light up the road quite well. They look agressive

Have some1 install this product that knows what they are doing...I was driving with my lights on...at night on the highway, and suddenly I noticed somethign flew off my car, I look at my right headlight lamp cover, it was gone. Not good, I had to go back and get it, I found it after about 45 min of looking. and then my left 1 flew off another time. After this, I had some1 put them on that knew what they were doing...it was not a good expirence, now i have to get them repainted, cause they are scratched to hell. Over all though, I am pleased with this Product

Brain Storm Euro Lights

Update and UPGRADE after 18 months.

I think I was the first to make a review of this product. I still like it, but have improved it. 1. After laying a piece of electrical tape along the entire upper edge of the 'bucket' and 'lens', I was able to eliminate the water problem. Gluing it might be better. 2. Lights are not bright enough - a. Installed Catz H3 bulbs b. Had a shop install electrical relays - to control the lamps. This provided a full 12 volt to the bulbs and they are bright now. I believe BSP is now providing the relays as part of the package. The Catz H3's helped a lot.

Clear Lexan covered fixed headlights that replace the stock "pizza boxes" pop-up lamps.

Took some time and TLC to affix properly, but the results were well worth the angst involved in the installation. Taking the headlamp motors out really opens up the engine bay for accessibility and other toys. Does not interfere with anything (i.e. cruise control, CAI, etc.), but make sure to tighten down all hardware from time to time, as road vibration will tend to loosen things up. The lights are very adjustable (in reference to another review of this product) and you'll have to work on getting them just so. I used the wall in my garage to align them.

The buckets could use longer "tabs" where they attach to the car, but some tinkering got the job done. Condensation will gather under the upper reaches, but will disappear shortly after washes. If this annoys you, it is very easy to remove the bucket/Lexan assembly to wipe down thoroughly. This should be done from time to time to remove dirt anyway. Road visibility and aero improve dramatically. I've combined them with Crazy Red's driving lights (they use the same 55W halogen bulb, so I've stocked up) and the road lights up wonderfully. The looks and comments you'll garner are well worth the extra money and work!

BSP's Euro headlight kit

Well what can i say after waiting forever to save the money for them i finally got to order them and for 420.00 they finally arrived , packaging was great, shipping was reasonable, but the product ..... well let's just say that for over 4 bills i would expect at least a LITTLE quality cheap flimsy plastic trays that probably couldn't survive a fall from waist level , cheap lights ( i think my flash light puts out more light)which of course you could upgrade for even MORE money but why bother ? after sending the kit back to them and getting my money back i went and spent about 150.00 and made a kit myself looks twice as good and probably at least 20 times as strong ,got the idea from an older issue of sport compact where i guy had the same problem and decided to make his own . So did i and so should you!

Dont waste your money on this one, go buy a dremel and a sheet of 3/8 lexan instead and take the extra money you just saved and go buy somthing else too

overall their service is good , got a little cranky when they got told their product could have been made better, ok alot better but hey 400.00??! cmon gimme a break

BSP EURO HEADLIGHTS TO REPLACE POP-UP LIGHTS

MY SON OWED ME SOME MONEY SO INSTEAD OF PAYING ME HE ORDERED THE EURO HEADLIGHTS FROM BRAINSTORM PRODUCTS. I HAD BEEN TRYING TO DECIDE BETWEEN THE EURO AND LOW PROFILE HEADLIGHTS. THE PRODUCT WAS OF LESSER QUALITY THAN I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED, BUT OVERALL WAS ACCEPTABLE. HOWEVER, AFTER INSTALLING THE LIGHTS WITHOUT MUCH DIFFICULTY, I WAS UNABLE TO GET THE LIGHTS ADJUSTED PROPERLY. EVEN ON LOW BEAM, A LOT OF DRIVERS THOUGHT I WAS DRIVING WITH HIGHT BEAMS. SECONDLY, THE LIGHTS USE FOG LIGHT BULBS WHICH ARE NOT AS BRIGHT AS THE OEM. I TOOK A NIGHT TRIP OF OVER THREE HOURS AND THE LIGHTS WERE BARELY SUFFICIENT. AFTER HAVING THE LIGHTS ON FOR A LITTLE OVER A MONTH, I REMOVED AND REINSTALLED MY ORIGINAL POP-UPS.

I DO NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH BSP. IF THESE LIGHTS ARE WHAT SOMEONE REALLY WANTS, THEN I THINK THEY SHOULD BE SATISFIED WITH THEM EVEN THOUGHT I THINK THE MOLDED EURO BUCKET THAT FITS AROUND THE LIGHTS AND PROTRUDES FOWARD TO COVER THE AREA ORIGINALLY COVERED BY THE POP-UP LIDS COULD BE OF BETTER QUALITY, ESPECIALLY FOR A PRODUCT THE ARE SELLING FOR $400.00.

Flared-in fixed-position dual headlamps for M1 with clear plastic cover and black "bucket" revealing lights mounted on adjustable metal bracketry.

Overall I am somewhat disappointed with this product. I originally purchased the kit (along with a set of TSI's) to create an airway to feed the intake for my turbo, so I saw them as more of a necessary evil rather than a look I specifically wanted. Nevertheless I was excited to get the kit, which doubtless further accented my disappointment. The directions are severely lacking in clarity; for example, they never specify whether Left and Right are oriented from you facing the front bumper, or sitting in the driver's seat. It's not too difficult to figure out, but it wouldn't be challenging for BSP to make the requisite changes in the docs. Likewise the directions refer to reference marks painted on the light frames which -- at least on my kit -- didn't exist. The plastic buckets are *very* cheaply made and did not fit cleanly; I ended up having to spend additional money with my body shop guy to add extra material so the retaining bolts would have enough "meat" to grab onto.

I documented all the problems I had and contacted BSP with an offer to re-write the entire installation manual in exchange for one of their vintage gas lids. Brainstorm's reply was that they were not interested because clearly I had not installed the kit correctly and that there were no problems with either the kit's components or the manual. I suggested that perhaps that was not the right approach to take in resolving the outstanding questions but I never heard any more from them.

This is not the first time I've had trouble with BSP, though in the first instance Andy Cork was still involved and he made a great effort to solve the problem. The new management seems far less concerned about the happiness of this customer, and indeed exhibits a level of arrogance which cautions me against making further purchases.

in a nut shell it's a cool idea to have built in lights in a first Gen. Miata but it's got to Be expensive!!Right??? well brainstorm products aperantly had a great idea of doing it....CHEAP (well if you consider $500 or so dollers cheap) so i guess the idea is to make the lights plasticand build them in.... Sounds Easy

My exp. with this product was a scaring one it hurt my ego and my car i considered myself to be an Miata kind of guy so i do alot of the work myself getting the lights togather was easy enough taking the lights out was not easy but not to bad... now warping the lights to make them fit my car (91) was not my idea of fun so for 2 day's i spent tring to get them in and to no Avail the product beat me.. My car was in peaces for day's but i got it back togather and then my lights would not shut all the way. Man i was mad... but never again i guess flip up lights are the origanil roasder image and who want's to mess that up? not me any more

Although i had a bad experance Brainstorm was real nice about helping me with my problems and i still use their products just not their lihgts (i wont even try the low profile lights.... well mabye, it's still roadster)

This kit replaces the entire pop-up lights and the related mechanisms to a cleaner looking more aerodinamic fixed duo-round headlight. The kit consists of four sealed beams, two plastic moulded trays, two clear Lexan covers, and all the necessary connecting hardware.

I waited qite a while 'til I got these lights because they were under production when I ordered them,so I was wery excited when they finally arrived. After opening the box and inspecting the merchandise I was quite dissapointed with the quality of this product. The materials feel pretty cheap, especially the clear covers. The instalation is quite simple and straightforward with the instalation guide included.Installed, without the covers these lights look fine and do what they supposed to.

This is a kit for those who want to get that suffisticated look without any suffistication.

These lights replace the stock pop-up headlights. They sit in the same space but have individual lights for the headlight and highbeam. It comes with a plastic cover that has two slight humps to accomodate the curve of the light bases (Very Cool!).

I had it installed by Brainstorm because I am not very familiar with electrical wiring. They did an excellent job with about two hours of labor. I was very pleased with the finished product.

Let me say that it looks great and completely changes the look of the car, not to mention the added view at night. The car transforms into a european roadster with a more aggressive personality. You will definitely have to get used to the stares from onlookers. One minor negative is that the light assembly and the surrounding molded base are not a single unit. This allows air from the engine to get in through the open space between the headlight bulbs and the base causing the inner compartment to quickly gather dust and dirt. Although this can be easily cleaned by removing the plastic cover, I am looking for tubular material that can fit into the holes of the headlight bases (which are 1 inch deep) to block the airflow. The holes for the headlight and highbeam are approximatley 4 inches and 3.5 inches in diameter respectively. Overall, I am very, very pleased and highly recommend this kit. This is a must for any Miata enthusiast!

new euro light kit which replaces the pop up bug lights

The instructions were good, and I found that the original lighting system could be removed as an entire unit vice piecemeal. The dealer made a point of informing me that these were not like some oem sealed light unit but that the quality was good I would agree

I am very pleased with the new look of my 95 merlot m edition. My body shop did an excellent job of matching the merlot paint for the plasic inserts. I principally installed this system day time running for safety not for highspeed night illumination. In fact i dont know if the lights are well adusted for night running. I did find that the adjustments for the light pattern might be insufficient without some modification but it is no big deal. The look is very unique and i am very pleased. I am going to call brainstorm and find out if i can get replacement lens covers in the future because these are bound to scratch eventually in as they are plastic and not glass. One note of caution. When installing the lens covers on the recessed lighting box, there are no guideline holes etc. so the fit is pretty much as you make it dont push the covers down onto the boxes too tight. give a call if i can be of help

Replacement built-in non-movable headlights for the standard 'Pop-Up' lights.

Looks GREAT - About 2 hours to install

Installed on a 1990 Miata. BSP was especially helpful getting this to me as the car was going to the shop for repair from a collision with a deer (left front fender, door and rear fender).

Lights really installed without a hitch (although my interpretation of driver side and passenger side was different then BSP) but lights did get installed, no major problems. They are a tight fit and you have to be careful to get them in correctly or the hood will rub on them when it closes.

Wiring etc was no problem, everything went well, and everything just plugged in.

They look good, quality seems to be good (time will tell), however be aware that we don't think the lights are as bright as the original headlights!! Actually, sort of scares me on a dark highway, and I believe I will look for supplemental lighting.

NOTE: The "buckets" that go around and under the lights require painting, otherwise they are a dull black (better to paint them). But they do LOOK GREAT!!
