Rearview mirror with 2 interior/map lights on bottom; comes with wiring harness that plugs into stock interior light harness, so lights come on when interior light is on (w/door); lights also have individual switches so they can be turned on manually with doors closed. New mirror has a plate that is screwed onto OEM mounting location. Wire harness plugs into mirror and is pushed into crack where rubber trim meets header, along right top, side, and under dash at right; the harness has 2 plugs on the end: one plugs into OEM interior light, the other plugs into OEM light's harness plug.
Kit is well-made, with clear instructions, and is specific for '95 and earlier Miatas w/mirror mounted to header, not window glass. Installation was straightforward, although a little tricky to get around top's striker plate at top right of header. It helps to remove glove compartment (2 screws) to run wire under dash and plug into OEM harness/light. Lights are *very* bright and have side-specific fresnel lenses so they each direct light to the appropriate seat/footwell area. Since 3-wire harness includes a yellow wire, I used a marker to darken that before installing; as noted in another review, MM should make all 3 wires black.
Definitely one of my 3 most useful modifications to the car -- I'd even recommend people get a '94-'95 instead of '96-'97 just so they have a header mirror mount and can buy this! Final note: the new mirror sits a bit higher than the old one; this changes the angle a bit when looking out the OEM plastic back window w/top up. This was not a big deal for me, but it might bother some.

Lighted rearview mirror. Separate controls for drivers and passengers lights. Can be turned on with ignition switch in any position. Lights come on when door opens. Can only be turned off by closing door.
Stock mirror sits forward of windshield mount, this one sits to the rear, closer to the driver. This obstructs the upper half of the mirror when the top is up. I'm 6' so this may not be a problem for shorter drivers. I've heard that MM offers a glue on windshield mount that lowers and moves the mirror forward. This unit provides a tremendous amount of light. I had the Moss light kit which was a big improvement but didn't help with map reading. This mirror does the trick.
Installation took about half an hour. Removing the passenger side top latch made things a lot easier. Wish mounting screws were black and wish there was a black sleeve for the yellow/green/brown wires.

Lighted Rear Mirror.
Amazing!! The M1 should have had this as an original item in the very first place. I was doubtful if the light is good enough but I ordered it to have a try after reading the review here. Boy am I amazed!! It lights up the whole cockpit with strong yet diffused light. Reading War and Peace in the car won't be a problem :-) Intallation is simple and the wiring harness it comes with make it a very simple plug-and-light job.
Some people find that it lights up when the door is open is a minus but I don't agree. It would be nice to make this a switchable option though. Highly highly recommend.

Lighted Rear view mirror that mounts to the stock location as the factory mirror.
Installation of this product is relatively simple. Mounts to stock mirror location. However, I sits at least 1.5" closer to the driver, thus narrowing the rearward vision looking through the mirror. The mirror seems very close to the driver. The mirror lights the interior very well.
After driving around with it installed in car I realized I did not like the location of the mirror. The light it emits at night is excellent. I called MM MArketing and they said they would send me the glue mounted tab to the windshield for free. But I did not want to glue it to the window. They exchanged the mirror for the Interior light kit that fits in the footwells.

Rear view mirror with individual lights for the passenger and drivers side. Can turn on in any ignition position but cannot turn off while either door is open.
Was surprised it was a complete plug and play unit and under 15 minutes to install. Tried it for first time tonight. Plenty of light for easy map reading and did not reflect into eyes or cause glare on windshield. Never thought about getting one before but knocked my stock one off last week and cracked it. Was after thought while chatting with Dealer Alternative so ordered one from them.
Have already modified it. Didn't like the light coming on when opening doors so since was 3 wire hook up, located the offending wire with volt meter and snipped the wire. That problem solved! Did not like the newer forward location or like the stock location either because of the roll bar. Had a windsheild tab laying around so glued it on at the location I wanted the mirror mounted. Another problem solved. The supplied mounting bracket covers the existing hole nicely and a bit of magic marker hides the brass screws. Since already have dedicated power line for radar detector under frame molding to that location will just modify stock mirror bracket to just hold radar detector. Should be able to install/remove radar detector in 5 seconds without any dangling wires! Only other thing planned in the next few days is remove the plug that shows under the molding and hard wire it so is nearly invisible. Not sure why wasted so many years by not putting one of therse on my '90!

MM Marketing Lighted Rear View Mirror, pruchased from Miata World
Mirror is slightly larger than stock, but does not interfer with my 95's sun visor. It is closer to the driver, but I find this gives better vision. Works well with both soft and hard top, for both day and night. Gives great light! Two lights have individual switches, so the passenger can read without bothering driver's vision. Mine does not vibrate at any speed. Installation was easy, not the instructions for routing the wiring are deficient; run the wire from the mirror to under the rubber on the interior side, remove the passenger top hook and run the wire under the plastic, in front of the hook, lossen rubber window/door pillar seal and run wire behind plastic until it can be crossed over an air gap to the dash unit behind the glove box, replace door seal and plug it in. I needed a wire tie to attach and control the extra wire.
Highly recommended. Lights come on when door is opened or by switches. The only minus, is that the lights cannot be turned off if a door is open.
Rear view mirror w/2 interior lights.
I have a '93 which has the interior lights at knee level..worthless. The MM mirror is the next best interior accessory save a new shift knob. The switches are underneath the mirror and are not visible. The brightness of the lights is just right.
Good instructions and a couple of screwdrivers get you through install in a quick 30 minutes. The kit wires into the standard interior lighting system with a simple connector. This allows the mirror to turn on when the door opens, just like the standard knee level lights.
Changing CDs at night is a breeze now. Highly recommended.
One area of improvement would be to provide a cover for the mounting plate or use of black screws. Using the stock mounting screws (brass) is a dead giveaway that the mirror is not stock.
Replacement for Stock Rearview with integral lights
Unit makes a big difference in making the interior more usable and friendly at night. Diffuse light all across the interior. Installation took 1/2 hour and was straightforward. I did have to remove the right top latch connection to run the wires cleanly to the glove box.
A must have item. Mirror is slightly wider than stock and just nicks the driver's sunvisor, when you use the visor-but not much. When looking at the mirror, you cannot see the lights them selves. The only way to light up your interior at night.
