CSF Dual Core radiator (bought through FM)

All metal dual core radiator made for cars with automatics, but can be used on cars with manual transmitions.

Straight out of the box, the product looked immacilate. Painted black. Was curious if the whole radiator was indeed metal, but upon further inspection i found that it was. Some people that I have spoken to about this radiator stated that it was heavier than the original. After weighing both radiators at a friend's shop, I found that there was'nt that much of a difference in the added weight (3.5 lbs.). The dual core fit just like a glove, along with the fitment of the fans. I did a test run at high noon in stop and go traffic with my a/c on full blast. The temp guage barely nudged to the 12 o'clock position. The outside temps around this time in Las Vegas...104 F.

Well worth the investment. It may be a tad bit pricey for some ($238.00 minus s/h), but it's worth the price to keep your engine cool. Also a great replacement for the original 16yr old radiator that was still in use in my 1990.

CSF Double Capacity Radiator

This is an all-metal dual-core radiator purchased from Flyin' Miata. It is for cars with an automatic transmission, but is advertised to provide additional cooling for cars with manual transmissions.

Shipping was fine. On my '95, installation required removal of two rails that were on the sides of the original radiator. These rails had large rubber bushings at the top (where a 12 mm bolt goes) and pin like bushings at the bottom (which fit into clips) to hold in the radiator. These needed to be moved to the new radiator, which wasn't difficult but isn't mentioned in the product description.

This appears to be a fine replacement radiator. I won't know if it really improved cooling until summer.

Double Capacity Radiator

[11/22/2000] Reviewed by: John Magnuson - turvovo@aol.com

An all metal dual row (as opposed to the stock single row)radiator manufactured by CSF (Cooling Systems and Flexibles, Inc.) It was purchased from Flying Miata (The Dealer Alternative).

Flying Miata (The Dealer Alternative) shipped the radiator to me promptly as they always do. Installation was easy, it's the same size as the stock radiator, just a thicker core, so it fits like stock.

My stock radiator was always adequate for my supercharged Miata with the sole exception of one of my favorite very steep mountain roads. The temp gauge would rise to about 3/4 on this road and the engine would start pinging badly. I installed the CSF double capacity radiator in hopes of curing this. The radiator did it's job very well. The temp never rises above normal on that steep mountain road now. Unfortunately I still have some pinging but I can't blame that on the radiator.

I would recommend this radiator to anyone looking for greater cooling capacity.
