Nology Hotwires are ignition wires with an inline capacitor that produces a HUGE powerful spark.
I have been a fan of Nology Hotwires for some time, I have them on all my vehicles. The engine runs more efficiently, with gains in HP and fuel mileage. If you are running a turbo or Supercharger, these are a MUST HAVE item. I recently built a Spec Miata racer to run the 25 hours of Thunderhill. We started with a '99 with 141k miles. Using the Nology wires, advancing the timing, and running 92 octane fuel, we were able to get an additional 5-9 HP throughout the RPM range. Additionally, these wires are very heavy duty and will last the life of the car.

Nology HotWires Spark Plug Wires
I've been using these wires on my '95 Miata for almost a year. The addition of these wires to a Miata is equivalent to installing a Capacitive Discharge ignition system. The wires have a built-in capacitor (~30 pF) that forms, in addition to the inductance of the coil and the resistance of the line, a tuned LCR circuit. This has a characteristic time constant of a few nanoseconds.
You end up with a higher-power higher-current spark with a very short duration. This results in precise ignition timing, even at very high rpm. The engine runs smoother throughout the rpm range, and dynamometer tests have demonstrated increased horsepower and torque. Because there is a voltage drop of about 2KV, the manufacturer suggests closing the spark plug gap to .032"-.036". Also, if you advance your timing, back off by 2-3 degrees from your goal, to allow for inherent spark advance (due to a quicker flame front caused by the shorter duration spark). For example, instead of setting timing to 18 degrees BTDC, set it to 15-16 degrees BTDC for the same effect.

High performance plug wires with a built in capacitor.
These wires are the best setup for any modified Miata engine, period! They are huge. Each wire actually has a separate ground wire which you bolt onto your valve cover. The performance is awesome. You can actually feel the car running better, and they look great. High quality item
HotWires release a spark that is almost a million-times shorter than the spark of conventional ignition systems. With a spark duration this short, ignition timing is far more precise and spark plug life is dramatically increased. Fact is, when your running a turbo with a FM/ECU, Dealer alternative suggest that you do not run the stock gap of .040 on your plugs. This is because the ignition system is becomes overwhelmed. Not with Nology wires. I can run .040 all day, but they recommend .035 because of the much faster more efficient combustion that these wires produce.
