Moss style bar comes in stainless steel ($299.950), chrome ($249.95), and black powder coat ($199.95). Mine is stainless steel, bought on clearance for $169.95.
I thought the stainless steel would be less brilliant than chrome, but the finish reflects light as beautifully as any chrome piece I have ever seen.
Easy 20 - 30 minute install via the seat belt tower bolts. Factory windblock had to be removed on my '03. No cutting of any interior body panels necessary. Seat travel and recline not impacted. I think the seat backs on '01 models and newer look awkwardly high as though they falsely offer roll over protection. Although the style bar doesn't offer roll over protection, it outlines the seat backs perfectly, making the seat backs and style bar look like they were intentionally designed for one another.

This is the new Moss Style Bar that requires no cutting and allows for full seat travel and recline
product installs easily and looks great. i went with the chrome one. it did arrive with a few scratches but not really noticeable. only problem is that it is definately a bit flimsy. but this is a style bar and much lighter than i thought it would be.
i have received many compliments on the bars. very noticeable addition.

New style bar from Moss which installs without cutting and allows full seat recline. Comes in stainless, chrome, and black. Not intended for rollover protection.
I wanted a chrome style bar for years, but at 6 ft and 220+, I don't give up seat travel for anything! Installed in 15 minutes, required no cutting, and I have full seat recline. It looks beautiful. Another reviewer said his was "flimsy," but after torquing the seatbelt tower bolts to the recommended 40lbs, it was solid as could be.
The bar even allows use of my plastic windblox in front. It wedges tightly between the seatback and bar, eliminating most plexiglass squeaks. Bar works great on my '92, but may interfere with M2 factory windblockers. Does block inside snaps to boot cover--which I consider a minor problem. Bar sits farther back, which shows beautifully through glass windows on my stayfast EZ-on top with glass window. Highly recommend this unit.

Come in three styles gloss black, stainless steel, and chrome. Alows full seat recline.
Had no difficulty installing at all. The only thing that I am very disapointed with is the fact that it attaches very flimsily to the seatbelt towers. Once I finished installing it, I have it a nice quick slap with my hand only to find out it flexes back and forth. I figured that this was do to the mounting design which is to fragile. I think one can easily bend it if one is not carefull.
I might take it back and go with a Racing Beat similar style bar if I can't fix it. I'm planning to re-enforce the it somehow.

This is the new Moss Style Bar that requires no cutting and allows for full seat travel and recline
The product is beautiful. Excellent fit and finish. There really is no cutting at all required and the seats really do recline fully. I am totally satisfied with the product. It only takes about ten minutes to install. I had a problem with the instructions. There were instructions for the number of spacers to use on the 90-97 models and on the 99-02 models. Once I figured out that I had to use the M-2 instructions on my 95 it was a pice of cake. I think what Moss is trying to say is that if your car had the OEM cockpit brace then you should only use the large spacer, the small one and the washer. Clearly the second small spacer will not work on a 95.
I would highly recomend this style bar.

Chrome double hoop style bar. $249 from Moss Motors.
Looks great installed. Installed in approx three hours by my self. Directions fairly straight forward. Replaces factory brace. Was fairly easy to do, but was suprised that I had to take apart the whole seat belt assembly, reels out of brackets etc. But when bolted in, the bar is very secure, mounted by three points. Had to cut the plastic interior trim, but if you are careful you can only trim what is needed and then it won't be that noticable. Looks great, especially on a red Miata.
Product was ordered on-line on a Thursday, requested two day air freight. Did not receive by Wed. of the following week E-mailed Moss and Jim Watts replied that they had not processed the order yet and would do so that day and waive shipping cost. Received following Friday. Chrome shows no flaking. Welds fairly well done and comes packaged with lots of padding. Would recommend this product. Lots of thumbs up from other Miata owners.
