Applicable to: '99 + 1.8 liter
I bought my used '99 Miata with Defender 185/60 14 inch tires. Once of the tires developed a bulge and got out-of-round, so I bought another one. My understading is these tires are 2nd-run BF Goodrich tires. They handle OK in the dry, but they have the WORST wet weather performance of any tire I've ever owned on any car. Simply taking off from a start without fishtailing on wet pavement is hard.
I suspect the rubber compound is too hard for a light rear-wheel drive car. Don't buy them if you live in an area where it rains, they're dangerous.
