On a personal note: My wife and I were guest of Mazda at the Chicago auto show for the debut of the two new Miatas. Mazda played a short video of us and then we ran out on stage and pulled the covers off the SEs for the press to see for the first time. Here is a quote from Cars.com:
"Before uncovering the two latest Miatas, Hughes (CEO of Mazda North America - pictured above with my wife and I) showed journalist a video with the theme "an affair to remember," which featured couples who have owned and loved the Japanese-built sports car in the past. One of the enthusiastic couples, Chris and Andi Lambert from Pensacola, FL, even appeared at McCormick Place South to help with the presentaion."

Spotting Tips
The new optional Bose radio with an in-dash 6-disk changer, looks very different from the 2001 radio. If you spot one of those radios you know you are looking at a 2002.
Vivid Yellow, Laser Blue Mica, Blazing Yellow Mica and Titanium Gray Metallic are all 2002 colors only.
